A church’s primary concern should be that the atmosphere of their city is conducive to revival. The burden for lost souls drove me to pray until the atmosphere becomes saturated with the presence of God. This burden became the overriding concern of the intercessors that became a part of this ministry less than 11 years ago. Inspired by the desire to see a mighty salvation wrought in the city of Tampa, prayer warriors in our church began to seek the face of the Lord in earnest. Undaunted by the mammoth task set before us we beseeched the Lord to pour out His Spirit in our city.

The scripture declares that we wrestle not against “flesh & blood, but against principalities & powers….” It became clear to us that intense spiritual warfare would be necessary to break the back of the enemy in our region. Desperate times called for desperate measures and we met at 5:00 am every morning to pray the will of God for our city. We prayed for unity, revival & laborers to go into the harvest. We prayed and then put wheels under our prayers by witnessing to everyone we came in contact with. The results were not immediate but we were persuaded that the effectual, fervent prayer of the righteous would avail much. 

Then suddenly it started to happen. First it was a trickle, then a steady stream, until finally it became a mighty flowing river. The Spirit of God began to move in miraculous and powerful ways in our services. Our altars began to flood with people hungry for the presence of the Lord. People from diverse backgrounds began to come to our church and surrender their lives to God. Baptisms were constantly taking place and people began to receive the Holy Ghost with greater frequency.

Currently we are in the middle of a revival that has moved our church into a position of authority in our city. Just this year alone, hundreds of people have received the baptism of the Holy Ghost and in our services we consistently see in excess of 600 people in attendance. The Word of truth has come to the ears of politicians, celebrities and people from every walk of life. God, through prayer has changed the atmosphere of our city. Our prayers are now directed at speaking those things that God has decreed for Tampa and walking in Apostolic Authority.
